Cecolin 9 detail / Composition

Cecolin 9 is indicated for females aged 9–45 years.
Cecolin 9 is indicated for the prevention of the following diseases caused by HPV types 16 and 18:1

  • cervical cancer.
  • cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 2 or 3 (CIN2/3).
  • adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS).
  • cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 1 (CIN1).

In the Phase 3 HPV-PRO-009 study, Cecolin 9 demonstrated 98.2% (95% CI 89.8-100) vaccine efficacy against ≥12-month persistent infection associated with HPV types 6, 11, 31, 33, 45, 52, and 58. Evaluation of high-grade genital lesions associated with HPV31/33/45/52/58 and genital warts related to HPV6/11 is ongoing.

Important limitations

Cecolin 9 is a preventive vaccine. It:

  • does not treat existing HPV infection.
  • does not treat existing cervical disease or other HPV-related disease.
  • does not protect against HPV types not included in the vaccine.
  • may not protect every person who receives the vaccine.
  • does not replace routine cervical cancer screening.

HPV exposure risk increases with age, especially after sexual debut.¹ Therefore, HPV vaccination is recommended as early as possible, according to the approved product information and healthcare professional guidance.
